Matt Mitchell | Co-Founder
Matt is a Co-Founder of Harbor Oak Advisors and is based in Austin, TX. He brings over 25 years of experience in private markets, both as a limited partner and an advisor.
Before co-founding Harbor Oak, Matt served as a Partner at FirstPoint Equity where he was focused across all facets of the firm. Previously, he held the role of Managing Director at Sixpoint Partners (now Harris Williams), where he spearheaded the firm's origination and distribution efforts in real assets. He began his career as a limited partner in Lehman Brothers' private funds investment group (now part of Neuberger Berman).
Matt holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and graduated summa cum laude with a BBA in Finance from Texas Tech University.
Josh Dorfman | Co-Founder
Josh is a Co-Founder of Harbor Oak Advisors and is based in Boston, MA. He brings over 18 years of experience in the alternative investments industry, serving as both an investor and advisor.
Prior to launching Harbor Oak Advisors, Josh founded Plowgate Capital, an independent fund placement and advisory firm. He was previously a Partner at FirstPoint Equity, where he was heavily involved in distribution efforts across the U.S. and Canada. Earlier in his career, Josh was a senior sales professional at Champlain Advisors, focused across private market strategies.
Josh holds an MBA from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University, and graduated magna cum laude with an AB in History from Bowdoin College.
